Kriegsmarine Soldbuch

A very nice example of a Kriegsmarine Soldbuch to a Machinist

(senior NCO) Heinz Wolf who underwent U-Boat training.

Wolf was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd Class and Wound Badge in Black

in March 1941 and the Iron Cross Document is included.

The award was issued by the Unterseeboots Operationsabteilung. There are

entries from the 1 U-bootslehrdivision and 2 U-Ausbildingsabteilung as well as

ink stamps relating to Unterseebootstender Isar. It seems that he originally served

in some support position as opposed to on an operational U-Boat but was

undergoing U-Boat training.

Also included is his Erkennungsmarke which unusually has had a tradition

badge added to the reverse
