A further letter with a note on the reverse being a statement from a

comrade that Griese died of a lung infection in Soviet captivity

wool piping and "L" emblem. Although the metal emblem was only authorised for ranks of

Unterfeldwebel and above it was not uncommon to find it used on Unteroffizier straps

 

A small leather pouch with attached Panzer skull and letters "P", "L" and numeral 9.
