A pair of shoulder straps for a Feldwebel of Artillery
with red waffenfarbe piping and metal "GD" emblems.
These appear to represent a promotion from Unteroffizier by adding a strip of braid
across the base of the strap. A single strip of this type of braid would normally
indicate an NCO Aspirant but as he was already and Unteroffizer the braid has
been used as a simple method of upgrading his straps to Feldwebel.
